Pepper rises on weak arrivals
The pepper futures traded higher on Saturday. Futures started the day on flat note and traded slightly down during the initial hours.
However, prices reversed back the direction on lower level buying during the day. Limited arrival of fresh crop at spot market also supported the upside and futures ended the week on positive note.
Outlook
The pepper futures are expected trade positive initially on follow through buying on Monday. Limited arrivals at spot market may further add to the upside. However, corrections on higher level can pull down the prices towards the day.
Traders are waiting for fresh crop arrival in Vietnam which might cool down in all the major producing countries. Average arrivals at spot market were in the range of `21,600- 20,200 per quintal.
Indian prices are now competitive in international market and Vietnam crop is expected to hit the market by mid of March till then India has good export opportunity. According to derivative analysis, prices, volume and open interest all are rising.
This indicates Market is attracting larger numbers of traders willing to open positions from the long side and hold them. This scenario is a good clue that uptrend is secure & that the trend may continue further for a period of time.
