Pepper, turmeric fall on subdued demand

  • Black pepper and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to weak local and export demand at existing higher prices.
    fresh arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices.
    Black pepper and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 23,200-23,300 and Rs 17,300-19,300 per quintal, respectively. 
    Marketmen said reduced offtake by stockists and exporters at existing higher levels mainly pulled down the pepper and turmric prices at the wholesale kirana market here.
