Pepper, jeera fall on subdued demand
Black pepper and jeera prices fell by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today, owing to weak local and export demand amid adequate stocks.
Black pepper fell by Rs 200 to settle at Rs 23,500-23,700 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality prices also declined to Rs 15,800-16,000 and Rs 17,300-18,300 as against previous closing of Rs 16,000-16,200 and Rs 17,500-18,500 per quintal, respectively.
Market analysts said reduced offtake by stockists and exporters at existing higher levels mainly pulled down the pepper and jeera prices at the wholesale kirana market here.
