  • New Delhi, Mar 19 (PTI) Turmeric and jeera prices fell up to Rs 400 per quintal in the national capital today, largely influenced by weak local and export demand amid adequate stocks.

Turmeric prices fell by Rs 300 to settle at Rs 13,000-17,000 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality prices also declined to Rs 15,000-15,100 and Rs 17,000-17,500 against previous closing of Rs 15,400-15,600 and Rs 17,100-17,900 per quintal, respectively.

Market analysts said reduced offtake by stockists and exporters at existing levels mainly pulled down the turmeric and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

Following are today''s quotations in Rs per quintal:

Ajwain 16,000-21,000, black pepper common 23,600-23,800, betelnut (kg) 110-120, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,010-1,020, and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,100-1,250.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 900-970, cardamom (colour robin) 940-950, cardamom bold 955-965, cardamom extra (bold) 1,150-1,160 and cloves (kg) 500-525.
