  • Pepper futures continued to escalate on strong price momentum in all major producing regions due to supply deficit.
According to IPC, local prices in Brazil, Vietnam and Lampung had increased approximately from 10 to 13 percent. As per media sources, Vietnam pepper is expected around 1.10 lakh tonnes.
However more clarity about the output estimates will materialize only in near future. International market participants are eagerly watching Vietnam market developments since Vietnam crop has to meet majority of the overseas demand.
Pepper production in other region like Brazil and malayisia is expected to be lower due to adverse weather condition.
Arrival season in Malaysia is from April to July, whereas arrival season in Brazil will be usually from Aug to November. Spot price traded near Rs 27300 per quintal.
