  • Black pepper and turmeric prices rose up to Rs 500 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by stockists and exporters amid low stocks.

Restricted arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices.

Black pepper prices rose further by Rs 500 to conclude at Rs 27,800-28,000 per quintal on reports of lower production, firm international rates, and improved domestic and export demand.

Turmeric prices also traded higher at Rs 12,000-16,700 against previous closing of Rs 11,800-16,500 per quintal.

Traders said sentiments turned better following rising domestic and export demand against low stocks, in tandem with a firming trend at futures market, helping pepper and turmeric prices to trade higher.
