Pepper up on buying support; tight stocks
New Delhi, Apr 30 (PTI) Black pepper prices rose by Rs 300 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by stockists and exporters amid low stocks due to restricted arrivals from producing belts.
Black pepper prices rose by Rs 300 to conclude at Rs 28,200-28,500 per quintal.
Traders said sentiments turned better following rising domestic and export demand against low stocks in tandem with a firming trend at futures market, helping pepper prices to trade higher in the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are today''s quotations in Rs per quintal:
Ajwain 17,500-23,000, black pepper common 28,200-28,500, betelnut (kg) 110-120, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,000-1,015, and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,120-1,270.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 850-900, cardamom (colour robin) 900-920, cardamom bold 910-920, cardamom extra (bold) 1,070-1,100 and cloves (kg) 500-550.
